EsophyX®Z+ Technology and TIF®2.0 procedure

The TIF 2.0 procedure enables an incisionless approach to fundoplication in which a device is inserted through the mouth, down the esophagus and into the upper portion of the stomach. This approach offers patients looking for an alternative to traditional surgery an effective treatment option to correct the underlying cause of GERD. Based on clinical studies, most patients stopped using daily medications to control their symptoms and had their esophageal inflammation (esophagitis) eliminated up to five years after the TIF 2.0 procedure. Additionally, clinical results have demonstrated that concomitant laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair (LHHR) immediately followed by TIF 2.0 procedure is safe and effective in patients requiring repair of both anatomical defects.

Over 25,000 TIF procedures have been performed worldwide. More than 140 peer-reviewed papers have consistently documented the sustained improved clinical outcomes and exemplary safety profile the TIF procedure provides to patients suffering from GERD.

The EsophyX technology is used to reconstruct the gastroesophageal valve (GEV) and restore its function as a barrier, preventing stomach acids from refluxing back into the esophagus. The device is inserted through the patient’s mouth with direct visual guidance from an endoscope, and enables creation of a 3 cm, 270° esophagogastric fundoplication. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared the original EsophyX device in 2007. The evolving technology, including the latest iteration EsophyX Z+, launched in 2017, enables surgeons and gastroenterologists to use a wide selection of endoscopes to treat the underlying anatomical cause of GERD.

The EsophyX device, with SerosaFuse® fasteners and accessories, is indicated for use in transoral tissue approximation, full thickness plication and ligation in the gastrointestinal tract. It is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic chronic GERD in patients who require and respond to pharmacological therapy. The device is also indicated to narrow the gastroesophageal junction and reduce hiatal hernia ≤ 2 cm in size in patients with symptomatic chronic GERD. Patients with hiatal hernias larger than 2 cm may be included, when a laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair reduces the hernia to 2 cm or less.

THE B-CLAMP™ Stomach Clip

In the vertical clip gastroplasty or stomach clip procedure, the B-Clamp™ device is implanted to achieve lasting weight loss in obese and severely obese patients.

The concept is revolutionary. A medical-grade clip is placed vertically around the stomach, which does the trick.

This procedure is ideal for patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 29 and above who need effective weight loss.

The B-Clamp™, also known as the BariClip™, is a safe and effective bariatric procedure, reducing the stomach’s capacity and dividing it into two parts while keeping its functions.

The B-Clamp™ (aka BariClip™) is an implantable device inserted laparoscopically and made from titanium with a medical-grade soft silicone cover. It is “clipped” and fixed vertically around the stomach’s larger part (the large curve), drastically restricting food capacity.

The device divides the stomach into two parts: a “restrictive” part which contains the nutrients, and the “excluded” expandable part, which produces the gastric fluids.

The excluding part (old stomach) usually expands massively and produces gastric digestive fluids with natural pepsins and hormonal precursors. The restricted part (new stomach) is now much smaller, cannot expand as the “old stomach,” and will help patients feel full and satiated much faster.

The procedure leads to similar weight loss results as a gastric sleeve gastrectomy without having the inconveniences caused by removing a large part of the stomach (gastrectomy). The B-Clamp™ can be removed if medically required, leaving a clean and normal stomach.

The B-Clamp™ is specially designed for younger patients struggling with as little as 20 pounds of excess weight.

The B-Clamp™ fills a gap in the medical field for necessary weight loss that could not be justified with more invasive bariatric procedures.

Without a doubt, the B-Clamp™ is another important modern medical achievement in the fight against one of the most life-threatening diseases: obesity.

POSE® 2.0 Primary Endo Sleeve

The Endo Sleeve-POSE®2 procedure is an endoluminal Bariatric procedure treating overweight and obesity, primary. The Incisionless Operating Platform (IOP®) consists of four distinct working channels allowing devices to address many of the procedure challenges within the gastrointestinal tract. A key component is our Snowshoe® Suture Anchor. These proprietary anchors are designed to overcome the challenges of suturing within the GI tract.

The Incisionless Operating Platform (IOP®) is a flexible four-channel tube containing a specialized set of miniaturized endoscopic instruments and small endoscope-camera, are passed through the esophagus into the stomach. Once in the stomach, the tools are used to grasp, fold, and fasten together sections of stomach tissue.

Endoluminal Treatments differ from traditional surgical and conservative treatments by their minimal invasive concept with conserving the integrity and anatomy of stomach and intestinal tract, and their good and long-lasting weight-loss results.

The Endo Sleeve
is an ideal solution for patients with excess weight who have not had success with diet and exercise alone, and who do not qualify or do not want to undergo a more extensive form of bariatric surgery. The Endo Sleeve is a much safer, effective and pain-free when compared to the more invasive bariatric procedures.

Advantages of the Endo Sleeve:
ideal for patients with a severe overweight or suffering of being obese, with a need to a long-lasting weight-loss. The anchors-secured folds will reduce the stomach capacity with >50% and shorten the stomach by 30%.

* Non-invasive, non-surgical procedure.
* Procedure performed through the mouth.
* On an outpatient basis with very fast return to normal activities.
* Stomach capacity reduced with >50% and shortened by 30%.
* No cuts, no incisions, and no organs are removed.
* Long-lasting weight-loss.
* Safe and pain-free procedure.
